Grip-Rite Fas'ners color-coded packaging system, which has become an industry standard, helps users to select the best fastener for each application. Grip-Rite Fas’ners are divided into four categories, which are identified by label color:
 

General Construction
Yellow Label

Carpentry – Includes bright common, box, sinkers, duplex, pole barn, panel board, and joist hanger nails for general construction.
Trim – Designed for concealment, including bright finish and casing nails.
Masonry – Tempered hardened steel for use with masonry and concrete. Includes cut masonry, fluted masonry, and metal round cap masonry nails.
Flooring – Tempered hardened steel for greater strength, including bright ring shank underlayment, hard cut flooring, and hardened screw shank flooring fasteners.

 

Outdoor Construction
Green Label

Carpentry – Includes galvanized common, box, and joist hanger nails for general construction.
Decking & Patio – Includes galvanized spiral or ring shank patio nails.
Trim - Designed for concealment, including galvanized finish and casing nails.
Wire Fencing - Including general purpose galvanized staples.
Landscaping – Including galvanized spikes and railroad ties for securing landscape timbers.

Roofing - Includes electrogalvanized and hot galvanized roofing nails, Grip-Cap® plastic cap nails, metal round or square cap roofing nails, shingle nails, and galvanized or aluminum ring shank nails with neoprene washers.
Roofing Felt/House Wrap/Rigid Insulation – Includes Grip-Cap plastic cap and metal cap nails. Large 1” head and ringed shank provides additional holding power. Also includes tin caps in various sizes.
Vinyl Siding – Including electrogalvanized roofing nails. Recommended for use by siding manufacturers.
Wood/Hardboard Siding - Including smooth shank cedar shake nails and galvanized spiral shank hardboard siding nails.
